Zapin Dance

The zapin dance is a famous dance in the state of Johor. The word zapin comes from Al-zaffan, footwork. According to the history of the dance, it was originally an entertainment dance in the castle brought from Hadramaut, South Yemen by Arab traders in the 13th century which aims to use the practice of dhikr to spread knowledge about the history of Islamic civilization. Today, zapin dance is still being performed in a formal ceremony and informal. For example wedding weddings, opening ceremonies and so on.
