03/05/2018 – Great Hall, Cultural and Art Center of Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah (PKKSSAAS) UPM once again witnessed the Putra Glorious Ceremony and the Labor Day Celebration 2018 simultaneously. UPM Vice-Chancellor, Professor Datin Paduka Dato 'Dr. Aini Ideris expresses her gratitude and appreciation to the committee involved on the initiative of a meaningful ceremony for UPM citizens. She believed the council had a profound meaning to the University and its citizens, where the commitment and outstanding achievement of the university community was rewarded with recognition and appreciation.
The Labor Day Celebration 2018 was celebrated with the theme of "Skilled Workers are Leaders of National Excellence". Generally, the theme of the Workers Day translates as an initiative to strengthen the spirit of cooperation and coordination between the government, employers and workers in the efforts of nation's development. For UPM especially, cooperative spirit among UPM citizen all this while that can leap performance and consequently grab excellence that we have lute.
With Industry Revolution 4.0, when daily operation carried out using state-of-the-art technology, it will created conditions without or lack of reliance to unskilled workers. Requirements will be focused on skilled manpower that is knowledgeable and highly skilled in technique and modern technology application. This will guarantee organizational efficiency to increase productivity and competitiveness in future that directly will give impact that significant to excellence country. Thus, competency and skill increase seen can be realization through planning and implementation of training that are efficient.
The ceremony also witnessed two (2) PKKSSAAS staffs receiving the Excellent Service Award 2017 namely Mr. Mohd Khairul Zainal Abidin and Mr. Muhamad Khairul Mahily.
