Hijrah Ramadhan

UPM, Serdang – In conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan, Culture and Arts Centre of SultanSalahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah in collaboration with the University Islamic Centre, co-curricular Centre and Student Development, Division of Student Affairs and Office of Marketing and Communication Universiti Putra Malaysia has been organized a Hijrah Ramadhan’s Programme which is the first programme ever held in the form of community service.

 

 



Programme with children from Orphanages / Poor of Taman Baiduri, Dengkil has been going on for two (2) days starting from 17th July 2013 which is corresponding to 8th Ramadhan 1434H. Staff and programme’s volunteer have been together to pay a visit to the Orphanages / Poor of Taman Baiduri, Dengkil on the next day. In addition, Universiti Putra Malaysia received a visit from Orphanages and Poor of Taman Baiduri Dengkil and doing arranged activities with fillings that can inject spirit and perseverance to inspire these children to succeed in the future.

Among of the filling slots that have been compiled are the segment of "Ramadhan’s Introspection" conducted by Mrs. Noorizai Hj. Mohamad Noor, Head of Quality Assurance Office of the Registrar UPM, segment of “Amazingly my little siblings” conducted by Mrs. Rafidah Sadaruddin, Head of Guidance’s Section and Counseling Office of the Registrar UPM, and “Let’s Explore” segment that gave exposure to orphans / poor on service and UPM’s expertise in agrofarm research and medical


Hijrah Ramadan’s Programme also graced with invited celebrity’s appearances which is Okay group, one of the participants of Raja Lawak Season 7th. Theprogramme was attended by guest of honor; Hon. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shatar
Sabran, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Student and Alumni Affairs UPM.



“This program will be an annual community service program (Community Social Responsibility) for Culture and Arts Centre of Sultan Salahuddin Abdul AzizShah and this programme can become a programme which reflects University’s
image as an institution that always support government's noble desire together in helping government to organise spiritual activities and social responsibility in educating society to develop self personality while avoiding
useless activities among teens who are less fortunate.” (Said Hon. Mr. Hj.Anuar Hj. Ahmad, Director Culture and Arts Centre of Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah,UPM).
