Mandate Ceremony from YB Minister of Education Malaysia Year 2019

 

14th January 2019, Culture and Arts Center of Sultan Salahuddin Abul Aziz Shah (PKKSSAAS), UPM was held the Mandate Ceremony from YB Minister of Education Malaysia Year 2019.

Over 3,000 people consisted of ministries, agencies under the ministry, industry leaders, non-governmental organizations and state government education exco attended to hear the presentation of the direction of the Ministry of Education.

With theme 'Education for All', Minister of Education, Dr. Maszlee Malik presented the direction of the Ministry of Education (MOE) to improve the pattern of nation building through education.

The ceremony was held for the first time under the new government administration and merger follow up of two ministries that was once known as Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE) and the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE).

In the Mandate Ceremony Minister of Education of the Year 2019, besides reviewing on the challenges towards education in aiming the Vision of 2020, Maszlee also announced a number of important issues.

 


Also present was Deputy of Education Minister, Teo Nie Ching; Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education, Datuk Dr Mohd Gazali Abas; Director-General of Education, Datuk Dr Amin Senin, Director-General of Higher Education Datin Dr Siti Hamisah Tapsir and UPM Vice-Chancellor Professor Datin Paduka Dato 'Dr. Aini Ideris.


In his mandate, Maszlee announced five initiatives to reduce teachers' burden of facilitating file management and documentation, data management and online systems, schools devising self-sufficiency in literacy and numeracy implementation (LINUS) in line with student needs, standardization of forms and monitoring processes and coordination of committee formation at school level.

"All five of these initiatives will take effect immediately. I urge all parties from all walks of life to have the skills to help make this happen.

"I also welcomed anyone who wants to be together in the nation's construction agenda through education," he said.
