SERDANG: 15th February 2019, PKKSSAAS UPM, was held the Vice Chancellor’s Delegation Ceremony 2019 by Prof Datin Paduka Dr Aini Ideris. In her delegation, she emphasized the adoption of the principles of transparency, accountability, integrity and good governance amongst university staff to be able to become a solid foundation for credible and relevant institutions credibility.

She said although committed to the pursuit of success, campus residents must adhere to the values ​​of integrity and high ethical work due to no short cut to success.

She said the autonomy given to the university should be implemented well including trust in ensuring the freedom of speech, politics and academic involving students and academic staff.

"This is in line with the aspirations of the government through the Prime Minister's suggestion, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad when launching the National Anti-Corruption Plan last month so that Malaysia is known for integrity.

"This is also in line with the mandate of the Minister of Education (Dr Maszlee Malik) who emphasized ethics of good work, especially in pursuit of academic excellence," he said.

He said this when addressing the New Year's Delegation of the Vice-Chancellor 2019 themed Excellence: Integrity and Authority, here today.


Also present were Deputy Vice-Chancellor (TNC) (Student Affairs and Alumni), UPM, Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman; TNC (Academic and International), UPM, Prof. Dr. M Iqbal Saripan and TNC Research and Innovation), UPM, Prof. Dr. Zulkifli Idrus.

Prof Datin Aini said UPM's achievements and excellence should be pushed to a higher level through a comprehensive transformation plan in the future.

"We are not just about to see UPM at a level of excellence but authoritative when recognized by outsiders and referring expertise," she said.

At the event, UPM Media Visibility Awards 2018 were also presented to 10 selected recipients by their respective categories.

The categories included Productivity Writers for Expertise, High Media Involvement, Highest Electronic Media Viewability, Highest Print Media Visibility, Best Success Initiative and Agricultural Productivity Writers.
