Kunjungan Muhibbah PKKSSAAS UPM ke Jabatan Kebudayaan dan Kesenian Negeri JKKN Perak

8 June 2022 (Wednesday), the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Arts and Cultural Centre (PKKSSAAS), UPM had the opportunity to visit the National Department for Culture and Arts (JKKN) of Perak. This goodwill visit is one of the efforts and initiatives in the PKKSSAAS Strategic Plan 2021-2025 which is to strengthen and establish bilateral relations between government and non-government agencies in the field of culture and arts.

  

Our arrival was warmly welcomed by YBrs. Mr. Abdul Rashid Abdullah, Director of JKKN Perak and YBrs. Encik Fairuz Selamat who is the Deputy Director of JKKN Perak. Also in attendance were the officials and Cultural Artists of JKKN Perak.

 

This goodwill visit started with a briefing by the Deputy Director of JKKN Perak, followed by a slide presentation by Mr. Husalshah Rizal Hussian, Director of PKKSSAAS, regarding the function of PKKSSAAS, the services offered, sharing of art and culture activities that have been organized, and the purpose of this visit.

  

 

The meeting successfully achieved its goals of providing an opportunity to see and discuss the forms of cooperation that can be implemented, exchange ideas, share best practices in the management of arts and culture, establish and strengthen bilateral relations, and at the same time PKKSSAAS staff had the opportunity to view the facilities and amenities available in the JKKN Perak building complex. Among them are Auditorium, Music Studio and Dance Studio and other spaces. PKKSSAAS staff also had the opportunity to perform live with JKKN Perak Cultural Artists.

  

"I describe this meeting as an inspiration and commitment to the communities of UPM and JKKN Perak to together ensure that the sustainability of art, culture and heritage can be developed and further empowered to be inherited by the younger generation, especially to UPM students and youth in the state of Perak to participate in the effort to realize the DAKEN 2021 agenda," said Mr. Husalshah Rizal Hussian, Director of PKKSSAAS.

 

JKKN Perak also welcomes cooperation and involvement from academic institutions, especially public universities, in encouraging the involvement of students and youth in art, culture and heritage research activities or activities that will be conducted by JKKN in line with the goals of the National Cultural Policy (DAKEN) 2021
