8th August 2018 – Main Hall, Culture and Art Centre of Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, held a program in conjunction with the World Mother’s Day Celebration, which is a joint program organized by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, UPM's Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and University Health Centre, UPM and also supported by Andorra Hospital and Pa & Ma Magazine.
The World Breastfeeding Week has been celebrated since 1992, which is celebrated in the first week of August every year with the aim of upholding breastfeeding as well as to warn about the importance of the practice to the present generation.
The program started at 9.00 am with the launch by YBhg. Dato 'Hajah Mariam Mas Binti Yacob who is the Chairman of the National Population and Family Development Board and is also a UPM Alumni. Various exciting events are held throughout the program including Fit by Beat, interactive sessions with Pa & Ma Magazine, exhibitions, lucky draws and casual chats on the topic of breastfeeding with Dr. Ezani Md Monoto, Malaysian Masterchef Champion.
The program adjourned around 12.30 with the overwhelming response from UPM staff, students and local communities.
