Vision and Mission

 

The vision of PKKSSAAS is to be a centre that preserves arts and cultural activities and provides conducive and quality facility services in line with UPM's vision.

 
PKKSSAAS’s mission is to develop and expand arts and cultural activities among the campus community and surrounding areas and to provide conducive facilities that reflect its role as the main event location, in line with the university strategic plan.

 

National Cultural Policy

 

The vision and mission of PKKSSAAS UPM are also in line with the National Cultural Policy that focuses on three (3) main objectives: to strengthen the unity of the nation and country through cultures, to cultivate and preserve the national personality that grows from the national culture, and to enrich and enhance the quality of human life and spirituality which are in-balance with socio-economic development. To achieve these objectives, the National Cultural Policy has outlined five strategies:

• a) Restoration, preservation and development of culture to strengthen the foundations of national culture through joint research, development, education, extension and cultural relations;
  
  
  
• b) Enhancement and strengthening of cultural leadership through efforts to guide and train enthusiasts, to support and to extensively mobilise culture as an effective development machinery;
  
  
  
• c) Creation of effective communication towards national awareness, nationhood and Malaysian nationalism;
  
  
  
• d) Fulfilment of socio-cultural needs; and
  
  
  
• e) Enhancement of the standard and quality of arts.
